Writing Samples
In 2011 Benny co-founded Super Tuesday News, a Los Angeles satire site. One viral piece about Sarah Palin and Christina Aguilera fooled several outlets and even drew a public denial from Palin, a small example of how sharp parody can travel fast.“Palin says she’d deport Christina Aguilera for botching national anthem,”
Benny Parks once got the call to audition for Saturday Night Live. With just one night to prepare, he grabbed his good friend Cameron Wyckoff, a camera, and a pile of half-baked ideas. By morning, they had this reel: scrappy, fast, funny. Proof that sometimes the deadline is the best punchline.

When Day Breaks was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic. Created in a period of lockdown and uncertainty, the album reflects the time it was made while exploring new ideas that came out of that unique moment.
